National Dialogue on Just Transition: Ethiopia's Pathway to Net-Zero by 2050
The dialogue brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including government officials, state-owned enterprises, civil society organizations, and academicians to foster a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the net-zero transition. Mr. Mohammod from the Ministry of Planning and Development outlined the country's strategic roadmap. Mr. Abiyot Dagne from WRI presented insights on achieving climate resilience and maximizing co-benefits.

About the event
On September 5, 2024, the World Resources Institute (WRI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning and Development (MoPD), hosted a pivotal national Dialogue on Just Transition in Ethiopia. This workshop aimed to dissect the benefits and trade-offs of Ethiopia’s ambitious goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
